City of London
Architects’ Journal reports that new images have been made public of 3XN Architects’ latest proposals for a 36-storey tower next to the Walkie-Talkie in the City of London. The Danish practice’s proposed office-led tower at 60 Gracechurch Street on the corner with Fenchurch Street was shown off at a second round of public consultation this week (28 May). Initial designs were revealed in April.
EG reports that Cadillac Fairview and Stanhope have launched plans to develop a new office-led tower in the City of London. The pair’s joint venture bought 70 Gracechurch Street, EC3, from Hong Kong’s Tenacity in April 2022.
City of Westminster
Inside Housing published an article by James Green, Westminster City Council’s director of regeneration and development, about how more affordable housing is being created for the borough. Westminster is currently forecasted to complete or start 1,265 affordable (social and intermediate) homes in the city, of which 800 will be council homes for social rent.
Southwark
CoStar reports that Landsec is to double the size of its Timber Square development to over 600,000 sqft after buying a site on Ewer Street from Network Rail, which will allow it to expand the size of its development considerably. The original plans were for 370,000 sqft in two office blocks on Lavington Street.
