City of London
EG reports that the City of London Corporation has launched a strategic review into the future of Smithfield, EC1, Billingsgate, E14, and New Spitalfields, E10, markets.
City of Westminster
EG reports that Shiva Hotels has emerged as the front runner to buy the car park at 74-77 Welbeck Street, W1, for £100m.
EG reports that Starwood Hotels & Resorts is considering opening its second W Hotel or Tribute brand in London at 50-57 Newman Street, W1.
PW reports that Northacre has secured planning permission for its proposed redevelopment of New Scotland Yard, SW1, to provide 1m sq ft of housing, offices and retail units in six buildings.
Sandwich chain Eat has chosen not to renew the 10-year lease on its 68 Oxford Street unit, which is due to expire next month. The store, one of Eat’s largest, will close along with its unit Westfield London as the company looks to focus on transport hubs.

EG reports that Frasers Property UK has bought Central House in Aldgate, E1, from London Metropolitan University for around £50m.
