Camden
De Beers has instructed BNP Paribas Real Estate to sell its London headquarters for around £100m. The circa 111,000 sq ft offices at 17 Charterhouse Street will be sold along with 27 flats totalling 20,000 sq ft.
City of Westminster
CoStar News reports that administrators to Austin Reed have sold their former flagship store at 100 Regent Street for £7m. According to AlixPartners’ Statement of Proposals the lease on the 23,500 sq ft store was surrendered back to the long leaseholder Hermes for £7m, but after £1.1m of rent arrears the proceeds amounted to £5.9m.
PW reports that India’s Sahara Group is exploring a potential sale of three hotels, including the Grosvenor House Hotel, to the Qatar Investment Authority for almost £1.2bn. The Group has sought clearance from the Supreme Court of India to complete the deal. It is reported that the price stated is £590m.
Tower Hamlets
PW reports that Beach Blanket Babylon has been put up for sale for £10m. The 9,000 sq ft building at 19-23 Bethnal Green Road is fully let to Arrowchange, which operates the venue, at a passing rent of £215,000 a year. Paul Belchak & Co is acting for owner Sardar Properties.
PW reports that Curzon is to open a 275-seat cinema in Berkeley Homes’ Goodman’s Field scheme in Aldgate.
