Camden
EG reports that Lego is in advanced talks to take 100,000 sq ft of offices at ‘T3’ in the Argent-led development at Kings Cross. It is a 10-story block, comprising 150,000 sq ft.
City of London
EG reports that Brookfield’s 100 Bishopgate will not be delayed by the collapse of its contractor, Dunne Group. The Scottish construction firm entered administration this week after “sever cash flow pressures”.
EG reports that Amazon has agreed to take a further 80,000 sq ft at Brookfield’s Principal Place development. The company signed a 430,000 sq ft prelet in 2014 at a rent of around £50 per sq ft with an option to take the remaining space in the 16-storey tower. Now it has agreed to take around half of the remaining offices in the 700,000 sq ft building, which is due to be completed in Q1 2017.
PW reports that Wells Fargo completed the £300m purchase of a new HQ building in the City. The bank has bought HB Reavis’s first London development, 33 Central, on King William Street, and will move all its London employees there when construction completes in Q3 2017.
City of Westminster
EG reports that plus-size clothing brands Simply Be and Jacamo are closing the doors on their shared store on Oxford Street, less than two years after opening. Colliers International has been instructed by landlord M&G to market the 9,000 sq ft shop at 138-140 Oxford Street, and is offering the lease for £1.2m pa.
PW reports that a consortium of Saudi wealth funds has tabled a £1bn bid for the Grosvenor House hotel plus majority stakes in two New York hotels – the New York Plaza and The Dream Hotel.
Tower Hamlets
EG reports that the Government Property Unit is looking at 20 Cabot Square to fulfill a 400,000 sq ft requirement.
EG reports that Telford Homes and housing association Poplar HARCA have submitted plans for a £300m mixed-use scheme on Chrisp Street. The proposals include 650 homes, the extension of an Idea Store learning centre and library, a canopied marketplace and 200,000 sq ft of retail with a food store, as well as a six-screen cinema and a community venue.
EG reports that Derwent London has announced four prelets totalling 84,000 sq ft at the White Chapel Building. Three of the lets are in the public domain – legal firm Reddie & Grose; architect Perkins+Will and specialist boat insurer the Shipowners’ Club.
Wandsworth
PW reports that Wanda One, the U.K. Subsidiary of China’s Dailan Wanda Group, has secured £500m in development finance for its residential scheme at One Nine Elms. Ping An Bank provided an initial drawdown of £100m of debt as part of a £500m facility.
